It's time to apply to Sixth Form! We know Beauchamp City is the place for you; 90% of our students are on track to get A* - C in their A Levels, after all! But whatever Sixth Form you decide to choose, you'll need a few hacks to help you make the most of it. Take a look at some of ours!
You've heard it before, but it's never been more important! Record your research, homework and revision in a planner, create a checklist of your ongoing assignments and plan your time wisely (especially if you have a part-time job or extracurricular commitments). At Beauchamp City Sixth Form, you'll have a number of Silent Study periods each week; use this time to organise your workload and plan out the week ahead. You should also back up all work... we've been there before!
A study by UCAS found that two thirds of employers look for young people with relevant work experience! It gives you the opportunity to develop workplace skills, explore your future career path and put theory in to practice. And there's plenty of online opportunities too, such as ObserveGP for medicine! If you need a helping hand to find the work placement for you, the Careers team at Beauchamp City Sixth Form regularly update our online student forum - Beehive - with opportunities! We can also support you with applications and interview support.
At Beauchamp City Sixth Form we have dedicated silent study, group study and communal study areas. Whether you need to get your head down and focus on work, or rehearse for that group presentation, take a moment to step away from any distractions. Put your phone down, take a break from your friends and get to it. Make sure you reward yourself after - meet your friends at one of Leicester's tasty food spots for lunch!
So you didn't get the mark you wanted on your most recent assignment? You're struggling to understand a certain topic? Or you just can't find motivation? Relax! Sometimes things don't go the way we want them to. Turn this in to a lesson, compose yourself and try again. At Beauchamp City Sixth Form, your Form Tutor will always be on hand to reassure you when you need it the most.
When you're applying to Sixth Form, make sure you've researched your options! Does it offer my chosen subjects? What extra-curricular opportunities are available? Is there support? Our Virtual Open Day should help! The same goes for Post-18. Whether you're planning to go to university, apply for an apprenticeship or jump straight in to the workplace, remember to take the time to research all of your options! At Beauchamp City Sixth Form, our dedicated teams are always on hand to support.
It's no secret that you will be expected to put a lot of time and effort in to your A Levels, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take time for yourself too. At Beauchamp City Sixth Form, we emphasise the importance of balance; spend your time doing work, but also seeing friends, family and doing things you love.
Your future starts at Beauchamp City Sixth Form! Remember to get your application in via PS16 before the Friday 12th February 2021 deadline! How far will you go?
