We were so pleased to welcome Michael Foale, Britain’s first ever Astronaut to undertake a space walk, to officially open our Sixth Form yesterday, a year after we welcomed our first students through the door.
October 08, 2021
With our drive to provide academic excellence, including future pathways for STEM subjects, Michael’s experiences as a Cambridge University Physics Graduate and former NASA employee offered inspiration to students. Our students enjoyed a lecture from Michael where he encouraged them to follow their dreams, explaining that his route to space only came after overcoming rejection and hurdles.
We are a dedicated post-16 provider at the heart of Leicester city, with the aim of inspiring, educating and empowering students through a traditional, academic curriculum.
Michael said at the official opening, “I am really thrilled to be here in Leicester. It’s great to be at this school that is tailored to helping the students that are interested in science, technology, engineering and maths to realise those A-levels that are required to take those steps.”
Our mission is to provide specialist academic teaching that ensures access to the most prestigious universities and higher-level apprenticeships for any young person from any background, breaking down any barriers that may impact their success.
Delayed by Covid-19, we were so pleased to finally be able to welcome students, teachers and invited guests to our official opening!
