Beauchamp City Citizen Award

We recently celebrated the inaugural Beauchamp City Citizen Awards which recognises Year 13's personal development over their time at Sixth Form.

We believe this award acknowledges students' exemplary contributions to Beauchamp City, promotes citizenship, and demonstrates to future employers or universities the key characteristics that they say they want to see in their employees/learners.

It is not an easy task to achieve this award since students are measured against the following criteria:

  • Commit Consistently - this relates to attendance to lessons and a committed attitude to studies.
  • Aspire and Prepare - this relates to student engagement in planning for their future e.g. engaging in a society like MEDSOC, or completing a work placement.
  • Lead by Example - we offer students many opportunities to be involved in student leadership or represent the school.
  • Beyond the Classroom - all students are encouraged to undertake an extracurricular activity for at least one term.
  • Respect Our Community - this refers to students' demonstration of all 4 Rs (resilience, reciprocity, reflectiveness, and resourcefulness).

Despite this challenge, 213 students successfully achieved either Bronze (3 components), Silver (4 components) or Gold (all 5 components). We were honoured to have Warrant Officer Balbir Singh Flora MBE, of the Royal Air Force, attend our awards ceremony to give out badges and certificates.

We hope these items are treasured by students for years to come, symbolising their achievements and hard work. Our current Year 12s are now working hard to surpass the current records.
