We are a successful, growing trust of 11 primary, secondary and sixth form schools based in Leicester and Leicestershire, with a passionate commitment to ensuring the very best outcomes for children and young people from all backgrounds. We celebrate diversity within our trust family, and also value the variation in schools, ensuring that each school suits its local context. We are committed to ensuring our trust-wide team of educational and operational senior leaders have strong, respectful and effective working relationships in order to deliver the very best outcomes for students.
We are looking to appoint a Head of Governance to lead the strategy and implementation of governance across the trust, working closely with our local governing bodies, our single operational governing body, Members and the trust Board. Our governance model relies on strong networks and very positive working relationships between the Members, Board, local governors, heads and clerks and this role is, in effect, the glue which holds the structure together whilst working closely with, and guided by, the Chair of the trust and the CEO. This requires a high level of understanding of governance policy and statutory requirements within academies, along with the ability to listen deeply, communicate well and work within the complex dynamics of this fast-paced organisation.
This is a new role within our trust, and therefore brings the opportunity to help shape both the role and the structure of governance in the next phase of the trust’s development.
If you are looking for a challenging role which makes a difference to the lives of children and young people, a highly skilled and committed team to work with and a role in which no two days are the same, taking governance to the next level within Lionheart may be a challenge in which you could thrive.
